Subscription and Cancellation Policy

Last updated: 12 July 2026

This policy explains how DiariesBook subscriptions, recurring payments, cancellations, failed payments, refunds and account access are handled.

Please read this policy before purchasing a DiariesBook subscription.

1. Subscription plans

DiariesBook currently offers the following subscription options:

The price, billing period and important subscription information will be displayed before you complete payment.

2. Recurring payments

DiariesBook subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless they are cancelled before the next renewal payment is taken.

By purchasing a subscription, you authorise our payment provider, Stripe, to charge your chosen payment method at the beginning of each billing period.

A monthly subscription will normally renew each month. A yearly subscription will normally renew once each year.

3. Payment processing

Subscription payments are processed securely by Stripe. DiariesBook does not store your full debit-card or credit-card number.

Stripe may process information such as your name, email address, billing information, payment method details and transaction information.

4. Cancelling your subscription

You may cancel your subscription at any time.

To request cancellation, contact DiariesBook through our Contact page using the email address connected to your account.

Where account-based cancellation is available, you may also cancel through the subscription-management option provided in your account.

We may ask you to confirm account ownership before processing a cancellation request.

5. When cancellation takes effect

Unless otherwise stated during cancellation, your subscription will normally remain active until the end of the billing period you have already paid for.

After that date, future recurring payments will stop and premium access may be removed.

Cancelling a subscription does not normally delete your account immediately.

6. UK cancellation rights

UK consumers may have a statutory right to cancel an online service contract within 14 days of entering into the contract.

Where you ask for the service to begin during the cancellation period, the treatment of any refund may depend on the service already supplied and the applicable consumer law.

Nothing in this policy removes or restricts any cancellation, refund or other consumer rights that you have under applicable law.

7. Refunds

Subscription payments are generally non-refundable after the applicable subscription period has begun, except where a refund is required by law or has been approved because of an error or exceptional circumstance.

A cancellation normally prevents the next renewal payment rather than automatically refunding the current billing period.

Refund requests will be considered individually. When contacting us, please provide the email address associated with your account, the payment date and the reason for your request.

Approved refunds will be returned to the original payment method. The time required for the money to appear may depend on Stripe, your bank and your card provider.

8. Failed payments

If a subscription payment fails, Stripe may attempt to collect the payment again.

DiariesBook may temporarily restrict premium access while a payment remains unpaid.

You may need to update your payment details before your subscription can continue.

9. Subscription expiry

When a subscription expires or is cancelled, your account may be changed from premium status to inactive or non-premium status.

You may lose access to premium functions after the paid subscription period ends.

10. Diary data after cancellation

Cancelling your subscription does not normally delete your diary entries immediately.

DiariesBook may retain an inactive account and its diary information for a grace period of up to 90 days after the subscription ends.

This grace period gives you an opportunity to renew your subscription, contact us or request access to your personal information where applicable.

After the grace period, the account and associated diary entries may be permanently deleted.

Once information has been permanently deleted, it may not be possible to recover it.

11. Account deletion requests

You may contact us to request deletion of your account and personal information.

We may need to retain limited information where required for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, payment-dispute or security purposes.

12. Price changes

DiariesBook may change subscription prices in the future.

Where a price change affects an existing subscription, we will provide reasonable notice before the new price applies.

You may cancel before the new price takes effect if you do not wish to continue.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our subscription plans, payment systems, business practices or legal obligations change.

The current version will be published on this page with its latest update date.

14. Contacting DiariesBook
