Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 12 July 2026

Welcome to DiariesBook. These Terms and Conditions explain the rules governing your use of our website, accounts, diary services and paid subscriptions.

By registering for an account or using DiariesBook, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Please do not use the service if you do not agree with them.

1. About DiariesBook

DiariesBook is an online diary platform that enables users to create an account and record personal diary entries, thoughts and memories.

2. Account eligibility

You must provide accurate registration information and use an email address that belongs to you.

You are responsible for protecting your login details and for activity performed through your account. You must not allow another person to access your account without your permission.

You must notify us through our Contact page if you believe that your account has been accessed without permission.

3. Your diary content

You retain ownership of the diary entries and other content that you create through DiariesBook.

You give DiariesBook permission to store and process that content only as necessary to operate, maintain, secure and provide the service.

You are responsible for the content that you enter into your account.

4. Acceptable use

You must not use DiariesBook to:

5. Subscriptions and payments

Some DiariesBook services require a paid subscription. Available subscription prices and billing periods are shown before payment.

Subscription payments are processed securely by Stripe. DiariesBook does not store your full payment-card details.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless they are cancelled before the next payment is due.

By purchasing a subscription, you authorise Stripe to charge your chosen payment method for the applicable recurring subscription fee.

6. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not normally remove access that has already been paid for.

Any cancellation or refund rights provided by UK consumer law remain unaffected.

More information is available in our Subscription and Cancellation Policy.

7. Failed or overdue payments

If a recurring payment fails, we may restrict premium features while Stripe attempts to collect the outstanding payment.

If the subscription remains unpaid or is cancelled, the account may be changed to an inactive or non-premium status.

8. Inactive accounts and deletion

Where a paid subscription ends, DiariesBook may retain the account and its diary data for a limited grace period so the user has an opportunity to renew or request a copy of their information.

After the applicable grace period, the account and associated diary entries may be permanently deleted. Permanent deletion may not be reversible.

Further details about retention and deletion are provided in our Privacy Policy and Subscription and Cancellation Policy.

9. Service availability

We aim to keep DiariesBook available and secure. However, uninterrupted or error-free access cannot be guaranteed.

Access may occasionally be interrupted for maintenance, security updates, technical problems or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

10. Backups

We may create backups to protect and maintain the service. However, users should not rely on DiariesBook as the only copy of information that is exceptionally important to them.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account where we reasonably believe that it is being used unlawfully, fraudulently, to harm the service, to compromise another user, or in serious violation of these Terms.

Where reasonably possible, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the problem.

12. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence.

DiariesBook is intended for personal diary and memory-keeping purposes. It is not a medical, legal, counselling, emergency or data-archiving service.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, misuse of an account, or a user's failure to protect their login credentials.

13. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information are explained in our Privacy Policy.

Please read the Privacy Policy before creating or using an account.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when the service, law, security requirements or business practices change.

The latest version will be published on this page with an updated date. Where a change significantly affects existing subscribers, we will take reasonable steps to notify them.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without limiting any mandatory consumer rights available to you under the laws that apply where you live.

16. Contacting us

Questions about these Terms can be sent through the DiariesBook Contact page.
